The Middle East is coming to Montreal.

With the so-called ‘Arab Spring’ turning into a winter of discontent, five artists touched by the streets of Arabia and Montreal, are preparing a multi-media experience that will touch on the humanity of revolution, the power of dreams, and the changing seasons around the world.

Get a bird’s eye view from Sundus Abdul Hadi’s new Flight series and get transported to the streets of Iraq in her Warchestra series.

Travel in time and place with Sawsan AlSaraf’s Rihla (journey) around the world and split your identity with el Seed’s Sajjal Ana 3rabi (I am an Arab) exhibit.

Unravel the lines with Karim Jabbari’s Calligraphy series, while Tamara Abdul Hadi pictures a new face for Young Arabs.

The first of its kind, The Launch of the Arab Winter promises to be a multi-media experience from some of Montreals’ most renowned Arab Artists. With musical performances curated by The Narcicyst (Yassin Alsalman) and music from Omar Offendum, Meryem Saci, members of Nomadic Massive and special guests, December 2nd promises to be a night to remember.

The three weeks following the vernissage will see the Fresh Paint Gallery host film screenings, workshops, panel discussions and musical events, all under the umbrella of ARAB WINTER.
